The Vitality Blast is one of such T20 cricket leagues where fans can have lot of fun, joy in England and Wales. It is one of the oldest T20 leagues in the world. What is the Vitality Blast?
The Vitality Blast is a T20 (Twenty20) cricket tournament. Each team plays one match that lasts only 20 overs per side. The tournament is held every year and includes top cricket players from all over England.
History and Background of the Tournament
The T20 Blast started in 2003. It was the first T20 league in the world. Back then, it was called the Twenty20 Cup. Later, it was named the NatWest T20 Blast. Now, it is called the Vitality Blast after a new sponsor joined. It is run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Format: Groups, Knockouts & Finals
The teams are split into two groups:
- North Group
- South Group
Each team plays matches within their group. The best teams from each group go to the knockout stage. Then comes the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finally the Finals Day.
Tournament Dates and Duration
The Vitality Blast 2025 will begin in May 2025 and finish in September 2025. The Finals Day will be held in September, where both semi-finals and the final match are played on the same day.
Venues and Points System
The matches are played at county cricket grounds in England and Wales. Teams earn points like this:
- Win = 2 points
- Tie/No Result = 1 point
- Loss = 0 points
The teams with the most points enter the knockout stage. You can see the rankings in the Vitality Blast table every week.
